THE TENT THEATER COMPANY will use your donation to fulfill its mission to nurture, support, and advocate for the new works of American playwrights and cross-disciplinary theater makers over the age of 60, fostering community among them and promoting their artistry and wellness to the larger community. The Tent celebrates and attends to writers in the totality of their artistic journeys. Founded in 2022, The Tent has assembled forty-six playwrights to investigate the issue of ageism in the theater, specifically how playwrights have been affected, and what services and support this group needs.
INDIVIDUAL GIVING
TENT FRIENDS
All donors contributing up to $200 will receive Tent Friend status, recognition in perpetuity as Inaugural Supporters, and acknowledgement on our website.
TENT PEGS
All donors contributing $200—$1,199 receive Tent Peg status, recognition in perpetuity as Inaugural Supporters, invitations to all public Tent events, and acknowledgement on our website, in programs, and other appropriate materials.
TENT POLES
With a minimum donation of $1200, all donors receive Tent Pole status, recognition in perpetuity as Inaugural Supporters, exclusive artistic access to private Tent Gatherings, invitations to all public Tent events, and acknowledgement on our website, in programs, and other appropriate materials.
DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS
A donor advised fund (DAF), which is like a charitable savings account, gives you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often money is granted to The Tent and other qualified charities. You can recommend a grant or recurring grants now to make an immediate impact or use your fund as a tool for future charitable gifts.
CORPORATE MATCHING GIFT PROGRAMS
Your gift may be eligible to be matched by your employer. Check in with them to see if The Tent can be added as your designated 501(c)3 nonprofit. Send us your matching gift form and we will notify your company of your contribution. The extra boost from your company can double or triple your generous gift!

OTHER WAYS TO GIVE
As an organization that supports elder artists, The Tent encourages the idea of legacy. What we leave behind to support the next generations can in some ways define who we are now. There will always be more Tent members joining up and it is our hope that through legacy giving we can support them.
PLANNED GIVING
A bequest is a straightforward gift that will ensure your belief in The Tent's mission. Here is how you can make it happen:
An easy, tax-efficient way to support The Tent is to make a gift through your will or trust. Bequests can be made in any form that is preferred: as a specific amount, or as a percentage of your estate. However you might choose to create your legacy, your gift will benefit The Tent's future.
The bequest process is very simple to set up. Please reach out to us and we can work with you, your advisors, and family.
BEQUESTS
Are you over the age of 70-and-a-half and have an IRA? Did you know you could direct donations from your IRA without being subject to any withdrawal taxes? A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a direct transfer of funds from your IRA custodian, payable to a qualified charity. QCDs can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions (RMDs) for the year, as long as certain rules are met. Link here for requirements and more information.
